I’m pretty much done with Dreamweaver. 98% of my work in it is simply coding; I’m more interested in seeing if ColdFusion Builder will do a better job for me, since it all comes down to project management for the most part.

As far as Photoshop and Illustrator, I can’t wait to get in there and start messing around with the new goodness.

    Got a i7 2.67GHz | 12GB | Win 7 x64 rig that’s aching for some new Adobe apps.

  2. Thanks for the preview!

Can’t wait for Photoshop cs5 and illustrator!

any word on the situation / conflict between adobe and apple regarding the “ban” of 3rd party developer tools used to make iPhone apps?

is there any way for apple to know whether or not an app was made with apple’s SDK or a 3rd party app?

All this looks great. Would love to pick up CS5 now as a pre-order, but am frustrated with Adobe’s 30 day window policy on previous purchases. I just picked up CS4 in late February as an upgrade, and now need to spend another $600 to upgrade to CS5. I don’t expect Adobe to run by my schedule, but their lack of flexibility on issues like this (not offering a discount) make it easy to wait to upgrade, maybe even to CS6.

The web premium of CS5 is going to be a must have. Unlike others I am impressed with the dynamic capabilities in Live View. I initially installed Xampp to give my PC web server capabilities in order to test my PHP. I would also have every major browser open to test regular pages now life is faster and more efficient.

I gotta say too, I’m not feeling the single product package design. They seem over simplified and the graphical distortion of the periodic-table-esque characters seems… novice.

But, of the 4 suites (including master), the one I got (Production Premium) actually looks pretty darn cool. I like the overall composite and how it fades to dark near the bottom.

Still out on the new “3D” bevel logos. But can’t wait for this to ship near the end of the month.

Sounds promising. Will the quality of customer support be upgraded along with the newer software? Adobe customer support to be perfectly honest, is awful.

How does Adobe justify one price for its products in the US and yet charges a whole lot more to European customers? It is simply price gouging to maximise profits.

Sorry Adobe, but you need to improve your corporate behaviour and stop ripping off overseas customers.

Is this easy to learn/use? My company has outsourced our need for this type work in the past and now we are looking to purchase the program and learn to do it ourselves. Any suggestions/comments/advice will be greatly appreciated!

I’m with Aaron M. I would REALLY like to see Adobe come out with a REAL IDE for application programmers. They continue to enhance the user experience using Drag and Drop tools, and GUI editing features, yet fail to address the audience that are made up of programmers and web developers who need better coding tools. I use PHP and switched from Dreamweaver early last year to phpDesigner because of the many developer tools it has available. Every release I look forward to see what Adobe has done with the latest Dreamweaver, and every release I’m disappointed with all the useless tools they have bloated their software with. On a side note, one of the first things the guy on the Dreamweaver video (Terry White) mentions is “I’m not much of a web guy…”. Why don’t they have a “web guy” demonstrating the 2 biggest web tools Adobe puts out, Dreamweaver and Flash? Maybe that’s their problem is they don’t have enough feedback from web developers and their getting their feedback from print designers and business owners…
